Well, 2012 was not my year for riding a motorcycle...



Nurburgring, April 4th, 2012


In April 2012 I drove to the Nurburgring and froze my tails off. At 5°C air temperature and less for the road surface, it was very difficult to get some grip for the tyres; next to nothing, it was very foggy, too.
After one and a half turn the event was on hold due to a lot downs of riders. When a woman crashed with her car (it was a dual event) in the high-speed back-straight and destroyed a crash barrier, the event was entirely cancelled.

Nurburgring, June 24th, 2012


More than a month later I was here again, but now with sunny weather and all the luck a rider can ask for!
Unfortunately, I missed to load the batteries of my video camera, so no vids of this event.

Nurburgring, September 10th, 2012


About three month later I was here again but was in a bad shape (ill) but wanted to ride nonetheless.
Because I have had heavy difficulties with the front brakes, I was, at the end of the first turn in the Coca Cola corner, too fast and too skew, and furthermore opened the throttle where I normally open it, which led here to a high-sider with which I totally destroyed my motorcycle, because it crashed into the concrete wall at the straight.
Luckily, I wasn't injured.

It took until May 2013 till my motorcycle was repaired and prepared for race tracks again.


Hockenheimring, July 14th, 2013


I did a last-minute register for a four day event held on the Hockenheimring in July 2013.
Although I don't like this race track much (it's boring and too easy to ride), even with my personal experiences, I found myself here at the best weather condition one can ask for and with all the luck one can get.
After renewing the rear tyre my problems with a slippery rear tyre was solved, I could enjoy this event, although I've had some issues with the front brake pads, which led to a shaky braking stability and therefore I wasn't as hard on the brakes as I could have - losing two to three seconds per lap.
Anyhow, it was an event which was almost perfectly for me.



Hockenheimring, September 2nd, 2013


Once again in Hockenheim in September 2013. Fortunately, I renewed the brake disks and pads before I've attended this event. Unfortunately, my rear tyre was already smoked off after the 3rd turn held, which restrained my lap time enormously, because I couldn't push any harder without taking too much risk. Although I was able to renew the rear tyre (tyre service provided for this event), I wasn't in the mood for doing so, because I was caught in a group of slow riders and here it wouldn't make any sense to get the maximum performance for the rear tyre, due to the amount of overtakings I had to make, which anyway, dropped my lap times. In those two days I had just two laps without any overtaking (the video shows it); either the other riders were too slow or I was too fast. Anyhow, it was no pleasure here to ride at all, although no one could ask for better weather conditions. What a pity!
